General:
- From the peak of the fullhop she has a lot of range; even more range with pound
- Directly under Puff is the best spot for Fox vs Puff
- She'll often retreat to one of the side plats: read left or right and get her!
- If you're standing outside of this range, she'll sometimes double jump to extend her cone
- SUPER slow, run under her when she does that
- Watch out for Up-Air from 20% up
- She's either gonna do landing upairs or FH upairs to read your FHs
- Don't dash FH in from corner EVER
Positioning
- Puff bad in corner
- Puff's strongest position is standing on the inner side of side plat
- You don't really have a hard counter to this, but:
- Don't let her push you to the corner with the range of wd off bair/pound
- Try to be in an unpredictable spot underneath instead
- e.g. Dashing past her and then FH backairing to center is good
- Puff offstage
- When she's low you can laser her, when she's high up, her drift is faster than you coming down
- Don't challenge her grabbing ledge, treat her ledge game like Peach's where you let her grab ledge and then corner her
Shielding vs Puff:
- Puff's frame data bad
- Shield is p much always good, even as a panic button (as long as you're aware of when you panic shield)
- Puff's only counter to shield is a mixup between fastfall tomahawk grab and non-fastfall late up-air --> weakness here is that she is vulnerable before that
